Jim Day focuses on representing individuals, businesses and banks in a wide variety of commercial transactions. Jim has more than 30 years experience in helping clients with real estate and business matters.
He graduated from Purdue University with a bachelor of science in aeronautical engineering in 1972 and received his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1975. In his third year at Wake Forest University Law School he received the Bureau of National Affairs, Inc. award.
Jim was admitted to practice law in North Carolina in 1975. He is a founding member of Burns, Day and Presnell, P.A.
Jim has achieved the prestigious "AV®" rating, the top ranking in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. This rating is the result of a structured peer review and is based upon the confidential opinions of practicing attorneys and members of the judiciary. He is a member of the Wake County and North Carolina Bar Associations and the business law and real estate sections. He served as President of the Wake County Real Property Lawyers Association in 1990. Jim was awarded the American Jurisprudence Award in Corporations and Real Property.
